"Originally from Jonesboro, Georgia. Joel has worked in local government since 2000. Joel worked previously for the City of Jonesboro and Peachtree City. He has served as the GIS Manager for Jackson County since 2007.
Since the mid 2010âs he has been involved with over 16+ actual archaeological studies involving Native American sites and around 15 more involving historical cemeteries. He has assisted with many numerous projects and site file submissions within the southeast United States and has assisted with three rounds of work in the White River Narrows archaeological district in Lincoln County, Nevada for the Bureau of Land Management.
The presentation will share the importance of GIS in assisting local archaeological projects and the impacts they can make in preserving important parts of our local history."
